Day: National Day of Unplugging

The National Day of Unplugging is a day to embrace mindfulness and reconnect with the world around you. An outgrowth of the Sabbath Manifesto (a Jewish project that aims to slow down lives in an increasingly hectic world), the National Day of Unplugging was created by Reboot to promote interaction with the real world, instead of screens. Throughout the world, tech-free activities are becoming increasingly popular, with people turning towards yoga, reading and spending time in nature. Since its inception in 2010, the National Day of Unplugging has spread across social media, and into hundreds of communities. It aims to remind us that we can spend time without our phones and computers, and to find a balance between technology and the real world. If work and a busy schedule mean you can’t take 24 hours without technology, even a couple of hours a day can be amazing to help de-stress, share quality time with loved ones, or just spend some time on yourself.
